Youth Rally

Hey Everyone,

The Youth Rally is this Saturday, April 28 from 7 to 9 pm. Please, please, please come and bring your friends! I think this year's rally will be awesome and it will only be get better with the more people who come.

Also, we will be having regular YF this Sunday night. Come to both!

YF Tonight

Hey Everyone,

I promised that I would try to do better with the Blog so here is today's post. Two big things to tell you:

1. Tonight we will be taking the lesson from last week and putting it into action. We will be having a Catacombs service. So be ready to sing!

Announcements!

Hey Everyone,

The Ski Trip is a Go! It will be the first weekend in March (the 2nd-4th). We will be handing out the permission slips on Sunday so be there!

Also, Pastor Bob is looking for people who would be willing to attend the Domestic Violence Vigil this Sunday night. If you would like to attend let me know and I will get you the info. Attending the Vigil will count as YF attendance for those of you who haven't been coming lately.

Superbowl

Hey Everybody!

Thanks to everyone who came to YF this week. I thought it was a great meeting. Just a reminder that this week is Superbowl Sunday so we won't be having YF. We'll meet up the next Sunday which I believe is the 11th. Below is the guideline from this week's lesson for anybody that wants to look at it. Also I've added a new link to an interesting website. Define ‘leadership’



Who are some people that exhibit strong leadership skills? What about them makes them good leaders?




Do you think that there is only one type of ‘good’ leadership?




Read John 13:1-17



Why do you think Jesus did this? What was the symbolism?




What do you think Jesus was trying to show about leadership by washing his disciples’ feet? How is this different from our original picture of a leader?




Peter is considered by many to be the leader of the twelve apostles. What leadership skills did he exhibit in this situation?




Jesus gave a powerful example of what it means to lead by serving others. How can we apply this idea in our own lives?

My Plea to You

Hey Everyone,

Thanks to those of you who made it to YF this week despite the distraction of the Patriot's game. I hope we can have a full house this week!

I wanted to address something that came up during our meeting last Sunday. We were talking about the Ski Trip and it was mentioned that a lot of people who haven't been attending YF still want to go along. As you probably know, the rule is that people who haven't been coming to YF can't go on the Ski Trip. I realize that people who have been part of the group in the past would like to come and have fun, but the whole reason we do the trip is to build unity inside the YF group. If you're not coming to YF and don't come after the Ski Trip that purpose is wasted. I know this seems kind of tough, but please, please, please try to come to YF for the next few weeks if you are interested in coming on the Ski Trip. If you come to at least two or three meetings from now until the first weekend in March you can come along. I don't want to have to make decisions about who can go and who can't so please do this for me. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Thanks so much! I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Hey Gang,

I've been tweaking the blog a little bit. I hope you like it. I also added a new link to www.268generation.com you should check it out.

Anyway, this Sunday we will be having YF even though the Patriots are playing at 6:30. I know that a lot of you won't be able to come because of the game, but we would love it if you could even stop by for a few minutes. We are starting a new lesson series on using our gifts and talents and I would really love it if you could start thinking about the various talents and skills that you have. I'm hoping for a good discussion this week so come prepared! We'll see you there.
